Since the 2011-12 school year, students in Jordan School district have been taking online courses. In that time, tens of thousands of students have earned credit toward graduation by completing online courses.
Most students have taken courses online to help get ahead or to free up space in their schedule to take other courses in their schools. This has provided a great opportunity of flexibility to help students achieve their unique learning goals.
While the total number of students taking online courses has grown steadily over the years, we have seen a significant uptick in the number of students enrolling in multiple online courses at a time.
To better serve this type of student, we hired 3 full-time teachers during the 2019-2020 school year to better support these students. We immediately came to realize the difference having teachers who work full-time in the online setting meant to the success of our students. Because of the hard work of our teachers and staff, we continue to see an increased appetite for online learning.
We are excited to begin in the fall of 2021 to enroll students full-time in our Virtual Schools at all three levels (Elementary, Middle School, and High School). These students will greatly benefit from having teachers fully dedicated to the work of Virtual Learning.
