  Happy Monday,  Midterms are this week (Thursday), and Module 4 Locks this week (Friday).  Upcoming Dates to Remember Sep. 17 Midterms Sep. 23 Parent-Teacher Conferences 4-7:30 Sep. 24 Parent-Teacher Conferences 4-7:30 Sep. 25 No School Parent-Teacher Comp Day Oct. 2 No School Secondary PD Day Oct. 19-25 No School Fall Recess Oct. 26 Beginning of 2nd Quarter Parent-Teacher Conference Signups: Teachers will send links out later this week. This process is done in Skyward, and we will share Zoom links on the school website the day of the Conferences. Instructions are here.  Wednesday Lunch Bunch: Almost every Wednesday from  11:45-12:15, we open a Zoom and talk about random topics and eat lunch together. We will send the link via Canvas. This week we are talking about Music.  Summit Time Friday from 10 am – 1 pm: Parents, please note that because of the nature of our building, you will need to drop off and pick up students, as there is no designated waiting area for parents. It is developmentally appropriate for your students to branch out and explore peer interactions on their own under the supervision of their teachers.   JVLA ART Show- Thanks to all who participated in this year’s art show, and to the art teachers for putting it all together. What a fun night!

  Dear Parents and Students, This week is testing week, so it looks a little different from other weeks. 

  End of Year Testing Schedule: All Testing will be in-person at the new Jordan Learning Center (3706 West 9800 South
  South Jordan, UT, 84009) 
  It will take full-time students two days to complete all of the end-of-year tests. Seventh Graders have a shorter day on Thursday, because they don’t have the writing portion of the test. Any partial- or hybrid-student can come for their scheduled test at the appropriate time. If you have questions about the schedule, please reach out to the main office. 

  Day 1 Wed May 20th

  8:00–8:20: Set up the day (string cheese, encourage-“mints,” yoga, trivia)

  8:20–10:20: Math

  10:20–10:45: Break & Reset (walk lap around building perimeter)

  10:45–12:15: Science

  12:15–12:45: Lunch

  12:45: Parent Pick Up

  Day 2 Thur May 21st 

  8:00–8:20: Set up the day (string cheese, encourage-“mints,” yoga, trivia)

  8:20–10:20: Reading English Language Arts 

  10:20–10:45: Break & Reset (7th grade released) (walk lap around building)             10:30: Pick up for 7th Graders

  JVLA ART Show 
  The Annual JVLA Art Show is on Thursday, May 21, from 5-6, followed by the elementary Choir concert from 6-6:30. Come join us for a night of Visual and Performing Arts. (Refreshments served).

  Canvas Security Update – We are working with the District, State, and Instructure to get communication between third-party apps and the nightly grading sync process working. We will let you know.
   
  Counseling Survey: 
  Every three years, the counseling center needs to get community feedback to ensure our program meets the needs of the students in our schools. As part of this process, we have a survey for parents that we need your help filling out. The survey is anonymous, and we use the results to help set goals for the counseling center moving forward.
